Protection of the Village Green

Following publication of the Council’s intention to erect posts, to protect the Village Green, public feedback from residents expressing concerns led to the Parish Council suspending approval.

The Village Green still needs to be protected and this has been evident over the past year.

The following proposals are the Parish Councils intentions for protecting the Village Green.   These will be included in an article in the September Parish Magazine;

  1. No Parking on the corner of The Folly (outside the White House)
  2. No parking on the odd numbered side of Old Street (from the village sign to the junction with Station Road)
  3. No parking on the verge on the even numbers side of Old Street
  4. Look to investigate the weight restriction for lorries
  5. Replace the missing posts along the odd side of Old Street
  6. Install/replace posts on the even numbered side of Old Street from the bus stop to number 46
  7. Install/replace posts on the verge at the bus shelter
  8. Reinstate a double height kerb from the pump to the Coal House

The Parish Council will be at the Community Café on Saturday 7th September from 10-12 to speak to residents and consultation forms will be available.
